Rewrite Edition
The second version of Bridge Duel was published on 2022-11-21. The game was made after the old version's code become too disorganized. This rewrite aimed at remaking the game with cleaner code for easier updates and better optimization.
Gamemodes
Bridge
Each team must defend their base while trying to jump in the goal of the enemy base.
Submodes: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4.
Chaos Bridge
Identical to Bridge except that a random mutator is enabled at the beginning of every round. The same mutator can not be enabled twice within a match.
- Extra Reach: Everyone's reach is extended to 15 studs.
- Big Characters: Everyone's character is permanently double size.
- Small Characters: Everyone's character is permanently half size.
- Clear Blocks: Every player-placed block is deleted, once.
- Raining TNT: Explosives randomly appear in the sky, damaging players and destroying blocks on contact.
- Friendly Fire: Players may attack others on their team.
- Low Gravity: The world's gravity is decreased.
- No Height Limit: Blocks may be placed at any altitude.
- Shuffle Teams: Players have a chance to switch teams.
- No Bow Cooldown: The bow may be fired much quicker.
- Boxing Dummies: Boxing Bots spawn in every 15 seconds at both bases that attack the team of the base they spawned at.
Basic Fight
Each team fights with a basic set of weapons. Last team standing wins.
Submodes: 1v1, 2v2.
Boxing
There is only a sword in this gamemode as the objective is to hit the opponent 100 times first. Playable as 1v1 or Bot 1v1, where an artificial intelligence will take the place of the solo player's opponent.
Practice
In Clutch Practice, the player is repeatedly knocked back, so they must place blocks below them in order to avoid dying to the void.
In Prebow Practice, a dummy spawns in at the opposite side of each round so the player must shoot them as soon as possible.

Update Log
Bridge Duel uses a system similar to semantic versioning. The first number before the dot represents the total amount major updates that have occurred. The second number, being after the dot, represents the total amount of minor updates that have occurred. These values never decrease.
Release --- 2022-11-21
The game was first published to Roblox.
On 2023 May 14, clutch practice was added.
Seven days later, better sword and pickaxe models were added.
0.1 --- 2023-05-27
Game statistics started being saved, but all Bridge submodes go to the same win counter.
0.2 --- 2023-05-28
Rocky map added.
0.3 --- 2023-06-03
The map Marble v2, a copy of Hypixel Sorcery, replaced Marble v1. Players could now sneak but all it does is hide the nametag through blocks.
0.4 --- 2023-06-17
Sword and pickaxe models replaced.
1.4 --- 2023-06-19
Settings menu which allows for setting field of view and visibility of collision boxes.
2.4 --- 2023-07-12
Bows added. PvP arena in the lobby now uses wooden swords, which deal less damage.
3.4 --- 2023-07-14
Levels and XP added. The levelling formula is XP/2000
. Goals reward 40 XP, and each point of damage rewards 1/15 XP. Levels unlock cosmetics.
3.5 --- 2023-07-20
The map Fortress, a copy of the Hypixel Fortress, was added.
4.5 --- 2023-07-25
Gamemode Chaos Bridge added, in which exploding TNT spawns every two seconds, placed blocks despawn after a minute, friendly fire is enabled, and there is no height limit.
4.6 --- 2023-07-26
Country flags added, and each player's country is displayed on the leaderboard.
4.7 --- 2023-07-27
Country leaderboards which show the top players for Bridge wins in each country. However, players only display in a country leaderboard if they are top 50 in the global Bridge wins leaderboard. As such, the country leaderboards are quite inaccurate as they will not display that many players.
Due to this inaccuracy, country leaderboards were removed shortly after their release.
4.8 --- 2023-08-01
Block textures can now be locally customised with any image uploaded to Roblox.
5.8 --- 2023-08-15
Full texture packs are now possible: sword, pickaxe, and bow textures can be changed as well as the meshes they use.
5.9 --- 2023-08-17
Texture packs can now be imported and exported using the JSON format.
5.10 --- 2023-08-24
Tablist added which displays all players in the server as well as ticks per second and the local player's ping.
5.11 --- 2023-08-25
New map Glacier. Players may no longer manually reset their character.
5.12 --- 2023-08-26
Some arrow trail cosmetics added.
5.13 --- 2023-08-28
Command /message or /msg added which sends a chat message to a player no matter what server they are in. The command /reply or /r replies to the player who most recently used the messaging command.
6.13 --- 2023-09-03
New gamemode Boxing is added which contains three maps: Rocky, Plains, and Coral. Each hit rewards 2 XP.
6.14 --- 2023-09-12
VIP rank is now available for purchase for 50 R$. It rewards the Slate cage, Monochrome arrow trail, and [VIP] chat tag.
6.15 --- 2023-09-16
Improvements to mobile as the golden apple and bow each have separate buttons. These changes can be toggled.
7.15 --- 2023-09-21
Global matchmaking system that works across servers. Players may now set an accent colour that displays throughout various interfaces.
7.16 --- 2023-09-22
New map Sand v2 replaces Sand v1. Desktop and laptop players may enable a keystrokes interface in the settings.
7.17 --- 2023-10-01
New map Sand v3 replaces Sand v2.
7.18 --- 2023-10-09
New map Stony Space v2 replaces Stony Space v1. Knockback and hit registration improvements.
7.19 --- 2023-10-31
Clutch Practice gamemode changed to Practice, with Clutch Practice being a submode. Prebow Practice is a new Practice submode that allows players to practice shooting the enemy with a bow at the beginning of the round.
7.20 --- 2023-11-03
Players may now play Boxing 1v1 against a low level bot.
8.20 --- 2023-12-10

8.21 --- 2023-12-11
The level formula was changed to sqrt(XP/50)
. Guilds use the same formula.
8.22 --- 2023-12-13
New PvP arena below the lobby where blocks may also be used.
8.23 --- 2023-12-25
Christmas capes are awarded for winning a game, valid until the 27th.
On 2024-01-04, notification settings were added, which all happened to be guild related.
9.23 --- 2023-01-16
Chaos Bridge was rewritten to instead use 12 mutators, and at the beginning of each round a new mutator is enabled. As of 9.23 the mutators are: Extra Reach, Big Characters, Small Characters, Clear Blocks, Raining TNT, Friendly Fire, Low Gravity, No Height Limit, Shuffle Teams, No Bow Cooldown, Disco Mode, and Boxing Dummies.

9.26 --- 2024-01-22
Three new cages were added: Air Balloon, House, and Natural. Additionally, the movement system was redone to support sneaking so that it prevents players from falling off blocks. It also improved air momentum so that players may not move freely while airborne.
However, very shortly after, the movement system was reverted back.
On 2024-01-25, a leaderboard for players' XP was added.
On 2024-01-26, Disco Mode was removed from Chaos Bridge.
9.27 --- 2024-01-27
Four kill effects were added: Blood, Diamond, Gold, and Copper.
On 2024-01-28, the win log webhook was updated to also say what map was played.

The map Coral v2 replaced Coral v1.
9.29 --- 2024-02-10

The cape Valentine's '24 was added that can be obtained by winning a match in Bridge or Boxing between February 13 and February 15.
9.31 --- 2024-02-20
Scoreboards added to lobby as well as mobile now using the same scoreboard as PC, though the mobile one is positioned on the left.
9.32 --- 2024-03-16

Parties were added thanks to the matchmaking system being rewritten.
The Easter event was finally removed on the 15th of April.
10.34 --- 2024-04-24
New maples Temple and Sakura were added. Gold Apples were removed from the lobby. The Ginger Cat cape was redrawn.
10.35 --- 2024-04-29
A semi-secret leaderboard was added to the PvP Arena that displays global PvP Arena kills. The movement system was once again changed to support proper sneaking, like in v9.26.
And just like v9.26, it was reverted back in under 20 minutes.
However, a different sneaking implementation was added shortly after, though it does not let the player move at all if they are crouched on the edge of a block.
10.36 --- 2024-05-06
Guild admins were added, which are members that the owner manually promotes who can manage everything about the guild except for deletion, kicking other admins or the owner, and demoting other admins.
10.37 --- 2024-05-09
In response to Bridge Duel having been played a total of one million times, the OneMillionVisits event was released. Similar to the Easter 2024 event, there were four quests:
- Win 3 games for the Cake kill effect.
- Gain 3000 XP for the Confetti arrow trail.
- Get 60 in-match kills for the Cake cage.
- Win 15 games for the Cake cape.
11.37 --- 2024-05-13
Boxing maps Coral and Rocky were made to be bigger, Plains was removed, and Rainbow and Sakura were added. The Lobby's PvP Arena was upgraded to include an underground network of tunnels. Many bugs were fixed and the knockback system was improved.

Reason for Multiple Update Logs
There is an update log in the official Bridge Duel Discord server, this wiki one, and one in-game. This may seem silly, and it is, but there is a method to the madness.
The Discord update log is absolutely necessary since it is the only one that people really care about. It is also possible to opt in to Discord notifications whenever an update is announced.
However, there were reasons to create an update log on this wiki:
- Some people might want to avoid Discord.
- The wiki is solely owned by Bridge Duel.
- Nicer format.
- More customisability.
- Much easier to link to this page.
- Anyone can edit.
- More detail.
- No jokes, just information (exempli gratia the text "literally 1984" in the log of v13.39).
Though the most likely reason is that the wiki existed and I wanted to make it less empty.
Reasons for the game update log:
- With the addition of the handbook in v12.39, it made sense to have an Update Log section. Same idea as the wiki - I wanted to make it less empty.
- For many players whose only interaction with Bridge Duel is the game itself, meaning they do not use the Discord server or this wiki, the handbook is their only way to see the update log.
Some might have noticed that the wiki update log writing style changed around v12.37, but the game update log style is consistent for all updates. Assuming that the game update log is stored separately from the wiki would be entirely correct. Reasons for separate game update log:
- Fetching the Discord update log is bad because:
- Using Discord's API is probably onerous.
- Not all messages are update logs.
- Less professional (first person used, messages like "thanks for playing", colloquial language, et cetera).
- Fetching from this wiki is bad because:
- Lots of requests will probably crash it.
- People might post inappropriate content, but specific versions can be specified, so this issue is solved and only written for complete overview of considerations.
- The wiki is for complete detail while the game update log is concise.
- Fetching in general is bad because:
- Websites can go down.
- Data must be parsed properly (both HTML and whatever form of Markdown the website uses).
- Possible use of hyperlinks and other features that Roblox does not support (theoretically you could make a web browser in Roblox but Bridge Duel would probably not include it even if someone already made it).
- Conversely, an update log tailored to the game allows for special features that only work in game.
So that is how we end up with three update logs, and they will probably always exist since they serve different purposes.
